OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our treatment philosophy is aligned with SAMHSA evidence-based approach, to engage with people who use drugs and equip them with life-saving tools and information to create positive change in their lives and potentially save their lives. The key pillar in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is harm reduction model of care. “Harm reduction is a practical and transformative approach that incorporates community-driven public health strategies — including prevention, risk reduction, and health promotion — to empower people who use drugs (and their families) with the choice to live healthy, self-directed, and purpose-filled lives.”(SAMHSA)
Our individualized, assessment-driven treatment emphasizes multidimensional assessment. Problems are identified and prioritized in the context of the client’s needs. Ongoing assessment of progress and treatment response influences future treatment recommendations. Our clinical team teaches clients the tools to achieve sobriety and a healthy balanced lifestyle through the unique, supervised, client –centered model of care.
We support maintenance or slow taper off from Suboxone (Buprenorphine) based on each client's history of opioid dependency. Some clients benefit from Buprenorphine maintenance, while others consider Vivitrol injections or choose holistic non medication modalities to achieve successful sobriety. We carefully evaluate each client's needs for anti-craving medication. Buprenorphine is approved for clinical use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA, 2002), and represents the latest advance in medication - assistant treatment (MAT). Read more about Buprenorphine recommendation on SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration).
At South California Road to Recovery, we custom tailor treatment plans for each client through a broad selection of various therapeutic options; ranging from traditional therapies such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, Family System Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and self support groups including 12 Steps and Smart Recovery. In addition, we refer and connect clients with biofeedback therapists, acupuncture providers, EMDR providers, and other experiential therapies and self-healing activities.
We strive to offer as many options as possible, as the path to recovery is unique for each person. Rather than offering separate treatment just for addiction issues or mental health problems, we strive to promote spiritual healing and integrative recovery for the whole person.
Our Mission
South California Road to Recovery has incorporated the innovative definition of recovery (suggested by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, SAMHSA). Our mission is to facilitate the process of change through which the individual can improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach his or her full potential.
